Sean L. McCarthy Decider Dec 23
For all of the humor and humanity he displays both in his closer as well as the end credits, there’s unfortunately a half-hour full of unnecessary cruelty and juvenile jabs masquerading as jokes to sit through first. Go to Full Review

Mel E @Dandelionrootss 2d I used to love Dave chapelle and I get that everything can be fair game for jokes but in a time when trans people are already targeted and ostracized, I had to stop watching this because it’s really just not funny. I don’t think I can watch him anymore. See more Alex C @sugarcookie Jan 19 some laughs, but it just wasn't as good. i feel like the capitalism joke would've been funny if well..... people weren't going homeless and hungry, you know? See more Ben N @Bneffer Jan 19 Chappelle's latest sounds like the cigs he smokes are definitely affecting his world outlook (paranoia joke, there). His take is more political, less funny, and trying to make points. I found it hit the mark less often than his old show did, unfortunately. I enjoyed this, and laughed out loud a few times, but that is a miss when compared to his historically fantastic comedy, for me. See more Michelle K. @MSKcf Jan 19 Last 40 minutes was not funny. See more Jaeson I @hellojaeson Jan 15 Dave Chappelle had re-made his career as the valiant victim. However, instead of sulking in a corner... he became a champion for some. He'd come to represent a kind of deep hurt that's systemic. There's a White world that values money above all else. Dehumanising people that gets in its way. This systemic tyranny became a thorn, a kind of ember giving him a superpower. Fuck the system that gives us nothing but heartache, corruption, hypocrisy and horror. The cruelties heaped upon every race on earth that has served under the yoke of such tyranny. Dave was someone who didn't want to just take the money and be a person without a sense of integrity. THAT... was my understanding of Dave ... reborn after his disappearance from the entertainment world after some kind of mysterious debacle to do with money and betrayal and Hollywood and 50 million or was it 150 million... a lot of moolah yet somehow Dave... just walked away. He made his peace with it. Until now. Money is it now. See more Stewart G Jan 12 Dave Chappelle delivered another captivating and engaging social commentary that had me in hysterics. I can't help but imagine that the Israeli propaganda machine has been hard at work desperate to disparage him behind the scenes, but as you could tell from the audience reactions, his observations were well received and pointedly humorous as usual. Chappelle reminds us that the world is indeed upside down, topsy turvy, when the mass murder of journalists and Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli forces elicits silence but jokes about transgenders and Israel draws outrage from all corners.
