Donald Clarke Irish Times It's a little like hugely extended footage for the sort of arts review show that might feature Paul Morley. Look who it is. Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2016 Full Review Tom Huddleston Time Out There are fascinating nuggets, but nothing you couldn't pick up from a decent biography. Rated: 3/5 Jul 4, 2016 Full Review David Parkinson Empire Magazine Puffy rather than insightful, it's a slog even for Bowie diehards. Rated: 2/5 Nov 20, 2014 Full Review Charlotte Harrison VultureHound Though the film provides amazing nuggets, it just doesn't hit enough high notes. This may also be down to the format it takes -- a strange hybrid of conventional documentary and guided tour of a gallery exhibit. Rated: 2/5 Jan 27, 2020 Full Review Russell Baillie New Zealand Herald While it's a very good video presskit for the exhibition, it makes for a peculiar sort of rockumentary. The exhibition is already one time removed from its ever-elusive subject. The film kind of telescopes that feeling. Rated: 2.5/5 May 6, 2016 Full Review James Mottram The List This peek into the elaborate world of a unique cultural icon hits enough high notes. Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Basically a glorified tour through the actual exhibition, which would have been far more interesting. I was completely deadened by the end. Overall incredibly boring, just watch the BBC documentary instead. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member An excellent documentary about an amazing exhibition. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review robert d David Bowie--the artist, the icon--is five stars. This promo piece for the museum exhibit only scratches the surface of the Man Who Fell to Earth's music. The best parts show specific items on display at the traveling exhibit, like Bowie's costumes and handwritten lyrics. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great ... No "Bowie" fan should miss this film. I wish I had seen it in Toronto ( 2013 ). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a great document for those who can't see the exhibition in person. The show will be traveling to Chicago and I recommend all of my GR and Windy City friends to attend Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Full review at: http://worldofblackout.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/review-david-bowie-is-happening-now.html 99 minutes can barely scratch the surface of the creative behemoth that is Bowie. The presentation's not really ideal for newbies, and I suspect the more devoted followers will struggle to find much new; but it is absolutely fascinating if you're into art, music and performance at any level.
