Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I found this film really, really striking... I was glad that this wasn't just a hagiography. Oct 2, 2019 Full Review Adam Graham Detroit News Throughout, Crosby is true to himself, even if that means coming to terms with being insufferable. Remember My Name is a portrait of an artist in reflection, and it's a hard, sobering look in the mirror. Rated: B+ Aug 28, 2019 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle A Sixties survivor who by his own account has crossed lines the rest of us have yet to think of, [David] Crosby is indeed a living legend. However, he also remains a legend in his own mind. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 15, 2019 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Transcends the usual rock doc career retrospective to create an unflinching portrait of the man one bandmate called "insufferable." Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 31, 2021 Full Review Liz Thomson The Arts Desk An unflinching close-up, utterly absorbing and all the more affecting for its searing honesty in showing a man who's gone through the fire and is willing to show the burns. Rated: 5/5 Nov 16, 2020 Full Review Ryan Silberstein Cinema76 Crosby isn't shy talking about his wrongs...he reflects on the ways his anger and ego damaged his relationships with former lifelong friends. William M Such a story of innocence, beauty and reality - all within a dream. The ending is profound ♥️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/17/19 Full Review David Poignantly presented and an amazingly candid portrait of a gifted artist coming to terms with his own mortality and taking stock of his failures as well as success. His music is timeless and I saw him in concert the night before the movie. See it even if you are too young to know the music. He has lessons to teach, cautions to heed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/17/19 Full Review Carolyn R This movie basically was a condensed version of his book, which I am glad did not get into the debauched life he really led. One feels sorry for him, yet if you read the book you would understand more about why his friends won't talk to David, as he did really bas things. It came down to the quote in the movie" Are you a good guy or an asshole?" Now David is sorry after decades he wasted up his veins. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/27/19 Full Review Joann D It was a beautiful insight into the life of David Crosby, narrated by him, and so very honest and real. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/27/19 Full Review Carol R Really enjoyed understanding the life of David Crosby from his perspective. He was very honest about his stupidity with drugs and wasting so much of his life. I understand now why Crosby stills Nash is not together. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/19 Full Review Stephen T the candor and raw openness of David about his life and how he's fucked up and yet survived is remarkable. this movie truly takes you back to a time that got its claws in us.
