Nope. Not good - was he even trying? I just dedicated my evening to a 50 year old guy making jokes about porn, flaccid penises and pubic hair. The show started out interesting. He was joking about the pandemic which, even if it wasn't side-splitting funny, was an interesting take on pretty recent events. But not long after that he was making tired jokes straight out of the 1980s. I don't know if he's lazy or just lacks talent but don't waste your time. [For the record, I've read his book and listen to his podcast. I was really looking forward to this special. So I guess the joke's on me.]

While spade still has bags of charisma in his delivery, the material was poor with his collection of out of touch 'rich Hollywood guy' isms. Feels like a vapid performance. The dude needs to run his material through the club circuit to tighten it more next time.

I seriously needed that. that was so refreshing. not that I don't like other comedy/comedians but I could relate to a lot of his content. being in my forties, unmarried with no kids it was really nice to hear his material.

My wife and I saw David Spade in Atlanta on April 1 (no joke), and he crushed it. A lot of the material was the same as what's in this special, but so what? The audience loved him then, and I thought he was great in this show. He does not pander to the politically correct audience -- good -- and he's just straight up funny. We've lost too many of the great, "experienced" comedians in the last year or two. Spade has a style of joke telling and choice of content that is authentic to who he is. Long live David Spade!
