Memo Akkus (Ercan Orhan), a young Kurdish boy being raised in a Turkish village, has his world upended when his well-meaning father (Brader Musiki) moves the whole family to the Netherlands to avoid violence in their homeland. Distraught by the drastic change, Memo decides to remain silent in protest of the undesirable relocation. Eventually, Memo must come to terms with his new life, a process that becomes a bit easier when he befriends a Dutch schoolmate (Louis Ates).
