"Dead Janitors Club" is a weirdly uneven comedy that happens to be a complete hit-or-miss as far as the humor is concerned. Go to Full Review

Juiie D @Awardwinner 5 days ago Wow, what a willd ride. A friend recommended I watch it and it was a real fun movie! Jake Busey is a hoot as a corrupt cop who hires a slacker who desperately needs a job. That broke guy is played by Felix Merck who I recognized from a vertical short. The movie does have some bloody scenes, in case you are squeamish, but it does fit the storyline about a couple of low life crime scenes cleaners. The movie clips along and held my attention. I enjoyed all the music too. I also liked the actor who plays the stoner guy who has a hilarious hobby. If you like dark comedy this is one I highly recommend. Oh, I forgot that iconic actor Gary Busey makes a surprise appearance! One of my favorite actors (Under Seige). I just wish he was in the movie more. See more Paige G @RT18046184 6 days ago For those lacking a dark sense of humor … you will LOVE HATING this film. BUT, the film’s — sometime shameless — build has a heart and a bite simultaneously. It’s a sexy, fun clever escape and the finale is anyone’s guess. See more Ryan I @Rizay Aug 31, 2026 If you love dark comedies, this film is for you. That it’s inspired by real events makes it even more enjoyable. Dead Janitors Club understands death and humor make a great match as it dives into the world of crime scene cleanup, originally recounted in Jeff Klima’s memoir. What makes the story so unique is that the crime scene cleanup business Klimas (Felix Merback) gets involved in is an elicit and illegal side hustle run by a crooked cop (Jake Busey). There have been other movies about crime scene cleanup work, including the feel-good dramedy, Sunshine Cleaning. This is not that. This is the edgy, gritty, dark side of that same premise, but never without losing sight of humor. It’s the kind of film that most filmmakers are too scared to make these days, pushing boundaries and utilizing shock value the way dark comedies are intended to operate. It’s gallows humor. With a bit of sex comedy for good measure. And a surprising amount of heart. Definitely worth checking out! See more Ken K @Wizzie Aug 30, 2026 This is a weird, quirky, campy movie based on an actual guy’s mostly actual experiences. Felix Merback does a great job of bringing a goofy earnestness to the character of Jeff. Jake Holley is hilarious as Chris. And Brianna Gage plays the tough, but tender-hearted Kerry in a way that makes you love her. While the events of this film are almost unbelievable, many of them are true. The movie’s pacing is great and the two hour run time was not a problem. For a low budget independent film, it delivers pretty solid comedy entertainment, a few tender moments and a little gore and sexiness. It is available to stream on demand, but do yourself a favor and try to see it in a theater. See more . . @morphie Aug 29, 2026 Definitely a crazy, wild, out-of-the-box ride... Based on a true story?! How is that even possible? great unfolding of each moment of "what the heck is gonna happen now!" jake and felix are a great combo and briana gives a natural, believable love interest... love the colorful characters: the cop, chris his room mate (wow), mr. kim... worth seeing this one in the theater :) See more Suzanne F @RT84551603 Aug 29, 2026 This was a deliciously gruesome and honestly humorous story about a guy, a REAL guy, who put up with some very pathetic and disgustingly gruesome stuff while initially earning next to nothing. His honesty in telling his story makes me admire him, but I also kind of feel bad for him for what he had to do. See more Read all reviews
