Laurie S Apparently one of the questions on an application form to become an American deputy sheriff is 'Are you a moron?'. If this box is ticked the applicant is halfway there to being successful already. There is another box which states 'If you are doing business with someone and you both benefit would you suspect the supplier of killing the recipient?' If you tick yes, knowing this would be such a stupid motive, then you would make a good US detective. Plus if someone applies to be a US doctor one of the questions is 'Are you devoid of any empathy?' If the yes box is ticked likewise the applicant is in with a good chance of becoming one. If a cop murders several people there is also the issue of ballistics which can trace the murder weapon to the rogue cop's gun's serial number. Why did I bother watching till the end? Because I want to be a US cop. Sepher keeps the characters credible, and even his hero is not given to unbelievable heroics" Syraj Syed Fipresci India "Haunting story, the film gives a bitter sweet comment on the ironies of a world so vibrant and yet so ailing..." Vanessa McMahon writer producer "The tale is irresistible from the first scene onward" Lia Fietz actress "This is a brilliantly atmospheric, engaging and stylish contemporary adult thriller with a cultish pedigree, as it is inspired by a famous film noirfrom 195O, also called D.O.A... This is a very commendable independent production, with sufficient production values and splendid locations that justify viewings on any festival or cinema screen." Phillip Bergson Fipresci "Dead on Arrival by Stephen C. Sepher (HEIST) stands the test of time: an impressive cast giving a fresh take to an edgy paced story.Look out for Dead on Arrival fresh on the festival circuit." Laurie Gordon Festival Director Animaze Montreal Anatomy of a Remake: D.O.A. 1950 to DEAD ON ARRIVAL 2017 with Emmy Nominated Billy Flynn: You've got topics embedded in this modern colorful noir from the dangers of vaccines to the lethality of prescription drugs and the opioid crisis in America. With which loaded tagline? "Vaccines Don't Kill People. People Kill People." Mar 22, 2018 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Unlikely to erase anyone's memories of its classic B-movie inspiration, or even the inferior 1988 remake starring Dennis Quaid. But taken on its own terms, it's not bad. Mar 22, 2018 Full Review Tatiana Craine Village Voice Writer-director Stephen C.
