It is this attitude toward her profession, her ability to perform complex, dramatic roles that may once again put Bette Davis up for Academy Award honors due to her dual performance in Dead Ringer. Go to Full Review

Bette Davis passionately plays evil twins in this very good Hitchcock-like noir thriller directed by Casablanca actor Paul Henreid. Go to Full Review

Bette Davis was always high camp, but in a film like Dead Ringer (where she plays identical twins), what could possibly be more camp than two Bette Davises? Go to Full Review

Joel H Oct 9 Dead Ringer didn’t start off on the right foot. I felt like the split screen effects were a little hokey and I thought Bette Davis was chewing the scenery no matter which side of the screen she was on. However, when the inciting incident occurred and the story started rolling, I was hooked. This movie has more twists and turns than a roller coaster, and I enjoyed the whole ghastly ride. And while Davis never really stops overacting, it almost became part of the plot for me. I thought Karl Malden did a fantastic job with his role, as well. I would recommend Dead Ringer to any fan of classic thrillers. See more Mark P Sep 8 A fantastic psychological thriller with Bette playing both roles of twin sisters. The cinematography and editing are amazing for a 1964 film, particularly with both sisters (Bette) in the same frame. A definite must see for the twists and turns as the film develops. See more Garrett C Jun 30 If ever I accomplish my life-long dream of running a classy art-house cinema, DEAD RINGER would be a double feature paired with Cronenberg’s DEAD RINGERS. The key thing, ‘course, about a great double feature is that both features have to drop dead great themselves. See more Steve D 04/14/2024 Ridiculous but well acted.
