Any noise and a bomb will explode! Former Lieutenant Commander Kang Do-Yeong is revered as a national hero for saving many of his men in a submarine accident. But he couldn't save them all and is tormented by the incident. One day, he receives a cryptic phone call informing him that a sound sensitive bomb has been planted at a soccer stadium. When the crowd reaches a certain decibel, the bomb will automatically go off. In the nick of time, Do-Yeong saves innocent lives but the terrorist remains intent on inflicting further casualties, including Do-Yeong's wife, Sergeant Jang Yoo-Jeong and his daughter, Seol-Young. Now he must race against the clock to track down the terrorist and save his family. Amid this impossible task, dark secrets the Commander left buried in the sea resurfaces.

For a movie that's supposed to be about sound-sensitive explosives, Decibel is also quiet, with almost no music or sound effects to speak of but lots of fairly uninspired dialog that doesn't do much except repeat information that the viewer already knows.

Decibel is an action spectacle made infinitely better by its attention to building characters as large as its explosions. As the pair push the film, Kim Rae-Won and Lee Jong-suk are a fascinating and emotional duel to watch unfold.

Such a good movie! Great acting, great pacing, a good balance is suspense, action, drama and comedy. I felt attached to all the characters by the end. Very well done and worth watching!!

I was trying to find my original review but couldn't find it anymore. Sad. I remembered watching this film in cinema by myself and i reminisced about how i felt before and after watching it. It was such an excellent film that i was reeling from the experience long after the movie is over and the soundtrack is being played (which is amazing itself!). As i've said in my og review " I was kept on the edge of my seat during the thrilling parts yet bawling my eyes out during the emotional scenes!" Such roller coaster of emotions! It's a really well crafted film with viewers not left guessing what's going on with the plot as there are flashback scenes that interjects with the current scenarios. Very impressed with the acting of the cast especially the protagonist and the two brothers who are the real gem of this film. A must see movie for all!
