Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Fun it is for some time, and then it starts to slide. This one should have been a humdinger, but it falls short. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 8, 2017 Full Review David Chute Variety The exhilarating Dedh Ishqiya is the young writer-director Abhishek Chaubey's worthy sequel to one of the sharpest Bollywood comedies of recent years. Dec 8, 2017 Full Review Sweta Kaushal Hindustan Times The film brings such grace to the dialogues, frames, set-up and songs of a movie. It does look a bit unrealistic but then, isn't cinema all about suspension of disbelief? Dec 8, 2017 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV Notwithstanding the title, there are no half measures in Dedh Ishqiya. Rated: 4/5 Dec 8, 2017 Full Review Mihir Fadnavis Firstpost Dedh Ishqiya is smarter, funnier, richer and way more gorgeous than its predecessor. Dec 8, 2017 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Naseeruddin Shah, as the romantic fool who isn't past manipulating his own nephew for his own ends, reminds you why he is one of India's best actors. Audience Member 'Dedh Ishqiya' is a film that's way more fun than the original, which loses it all from me whenever I watch it. It's a sharply made black comedy which is Abhishek Chaubey's best Hindi film yet, which benefits from splendid performances especially by Madhuri Dikshit, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. Huma Qureshi is also compelling. This is above all a thrilling and enchanting world, and you'll easily buy into it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Like the first film, it's somewhat of a jumbled mess in style with characters that are hard to like. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Compelling twist in a mentally insane storyline. That only Bollywood can devise. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review flixster f As good as one and a half (out of five)!!! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Gandikota A It's story might not win awards for originality, and that aside, Dedh Ishqiya is one of the rare black-comedy/thriller that simply refuses to bend to Bollywood norm and full marks for that! The movie is indulgent in quite a few places, but the brilliant acting, excellent dialogues and handsome execution make this an out-and-out winner you shouldn't miss! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/14 Full Review Audience Member This is by far the best Bollywood movie of 2014. And yes, its better than Queen. The cinematography, production values and sound recording is excellent (and matches Hollywood standards). For a moment, i felt like i was watching a Hollywood movie. The direction, music and performances (from nearly everyone.. even the hakeem) have taken this movie to an another level. Highly recommended.
