      Critics Consensus

Its fleeting glimpses of creature feature mayhem are certainly dumb fun, but Deep Rising cribs from far too many better movies to stand on its own.

Taylor E I would consider this a great bad movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Farah R Weird, violent, and nonsensical, Deep Rising might entertain genre fans, but this creature feature is not a quality movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/29/23 Full Review Johnathon W Fun creature feature that while has to deal with bad CGI and cliche plots, a game cast and direction brings it home. Treat Williams is a blast as the lead hero, obviously having fun delivering cheesy one-liners with style. He gets great support from the rest of the cast, especially Kevin J. O'Connor as the scene stealing mechanic. Behind the camera, Stephen Sommers directs a fun but cliched creature feature with over-the-top action but sadly aged CGI. It's not a perfect film but it is a fun one, and well worth checking out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Nitsan S This is so unbelievably dumb. Just awful. It's somehow filled with "action" and yet one of the most boring pieces of drivel I have ever tried to watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Nicholas M This is a love it or hate it movie. As a sit down veg out movie it ticks all the boxes. some effects and dialogue may not be great buts it never lets up and is pacey from start to finish Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/16/23 Full Review Jens B Once the action starts, it never looses steam! Great practical effects, creature design, acting, action, and score! A bonkers finale involving torpedos, explosions and a jet ski! And an absolutely awesome ending! (and the cgi isn't as bad as people say) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
