Audience Member Gael García should focus on his acting career. As its title promises, this movie is a deficit. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member it's interesting at times and not badly made. but it isn't wonderful, avarage actually. i suppose it's ok for a debut, though. promising. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This was just an ok movie.ending was very dissappointing... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite the English subtitles to this film having the worst standard of spelling this side of Kanye West's pitiful blog, this is worth a watch. Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal makes his directorial debut with this promising slant on the lives of the young idle rich in his homeland. Taking the lead role as a privileged high schooler, he contrasts the indulgences of two monied siblings holding a pool party with the lot of the working class staff expected to indulge their every whim. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member such a smart debut from Gael, great actor and a superb indie director in the making. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Fans who have seen Bernal in Y Tu Mama Tambien, the Motorcycle Diaries or Amores Perros may be expecting his directorial debut to be in the same vein and it both is and isn't. Like his previous films this movie deals with some big issues like racisim and class divide in modern day mexico, the pseudo documentary style is also the same. However this film lacks the action of his previous films, it is more about the characters and presenting a typical day in the life of Cris. As a result this may turn some viewers off but if you do like those types of films where nothing much 'happens' this is one for you.
