Having loved both the movie and the Broadway show, I was already sold, but this documentary took my appreciation to another level. It dives deep into the creative process, showing the sheer passion and talent that brought Wicked to life. The interviews and behind-the-scenes clips are gold, giving you that “aha!” moment about why the franchise resonates so deeply. My only gripe? It left me even more convinced that Wicked deserved to sweep the Oscars — how did they miss out on more wins?! While it doesn’t reinvent the documentary format, it’s heartfelt and engaging enough to keep you hooked. A love letter to a cultural phenomenon — and honestly, it hits all the right notes.
