Niki S Cheesy and corny. Probably could make children go to church. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review DAngelo J The documentary is entertaining. I feel conflicted because on one hand I believe that almost all ghost and demon phenomenon (i personally only believe in demons, not ghosts) in the US are fake and that shows like these are acting, but there are a few factors that I can't shake with this documentary. In the case of the couple and roommate found dead in the double murder suicide, either Zach is the scummiest dirtbag in the world for using it as publicity or he honestly believes that it may be connected because it's a real homicide case. There's also the case of the multiple organ failure of one of the individuals involved which was real and the drastic changes in certain people's personalities that you can still see today if you check on their social media despite no longer being involved with the Zach or the show. At the very least, this documentary leaves you wondering if it was mass hysteria, actual demonic activity, or if Zachs the biggest douche of all time Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review 123 J I was super scary. And I was afraid to watch it at first because It said that I could get a demon attached to me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/30/22 Full Review the s 300 years of modern civilization and this is what it leads to. Technically a step up from the Salem Witch Trials but only because nobody was hanged. My point is this: The concept of demon haunting is the exact opposite of science. If you notice, it's always hearsay, it's typically second-hand stories and creative descriptions of something that supposedly happened supposedly witnessed and they try to sure up the stories by suggesting that since someone is clergy or a doctor then it has to be true. While simultaneously noting that there is never any video evidence. It's hype, it's modern day myth, it's the manifestation of fear and hysteria, same as it's always been. And you'll also notice that whether it's the Amityville Horror, the Enfield Haunting, etc, they're always revealed to be a hoax at the end with someone making money off of it. The only truly frightening part is this story is that Netflix paid $65 MILLION for the rights to this story. People are crazy. Seriously. As soon as the media picked up the story, the homeowner had an agent and wouldn't even speak to people in order to maintain exclusive rights they could sell. And just because a myth picks up traction and becomes known doesn't make it true. Quite the contrary…the more people discuss it, the more "horrifying" the stories get and the more people who come forward for the attention. This story generated a $65 million dollar payday for someone and THAT is what this is about, much like most other things created these days…follow the path as far as it goes and you won't find a demon…you'll find a giant pile of money and a bunch of easily led people who have an easier time believing in ancient horror stories than basic science. I would say that this is the Idiocracy in action but it's more like exaggerate late-stage capitalism where the most unholy part is the cash grab. And sadly, you can't really separate the story from this documentary. The documentary itself is neither good nor bad, it's just a vehicle to perpetuate a bunch of staged garbage in my opinion. And let's be clear: exorcisms are modern day torture, one step up from drilling a hole in the head in order to treat a schizophrenic the way they used to. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Angelica J zack is so obnoxious with his fake possession tantrums. get it together, girl. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/02/22 Full Review Richard V I love horror, I go to sleep at night to the Shining. This movie I would not attempt it. It got me Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nick Allen RogerEbert.com More superficial than supernatural. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 16, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times While this particular "paranormal investigation" may terrify the more credulous among Bagans' fan base, skeptics are likely to feel bored and confused. Mar 15, 2018 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter A scary story, but not helped by fright-flick FX. Mar 15, 2018 Full Review Ernesto Zelaya Miñano ScreenAnarchy It functions as a full-length episode of the show, only with a bigger budget, less reality TV-inspired theatrics, and non-bleeped cursing. Feb 3, 2023 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts I think I was really hooked because of the structure... for me it was just an exceptional tale of filling in all of the details of the story. Rated: 7/10 Apr 14, 2021 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning Bagans is every one of us. He's the monster kid who wants to believe, just picked up a camera, and went for it. It's what makes the movie that much more accessible, believable, and ultimately more harrowing. Jun 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
