I loved this Mexican folk horror film directed by Luis Javier Henaine. In my opinion, it’s comparable to Robert Eggers' The VVitch. I really liked it doesn't have jumpscares. I find the audio production incredible, and the script makes the story simple yet very good from beginning to end.

Mexican folk horror has more to offer than we think! Touching on brujería in a very tangible way, the director Luis Javier Henaine takes some big brave swings and ends up, in my opinion, knocking it out of the park. This was a quiet gem I'm happy to have come across, and a director I intend to follow.

Disappear Completely is certainly an intriguing and disturbing film. I don't rate it as being particularly horrific or chilling, and I certainly can't recommend it as a horror film. If you are after something a bit different and don't mind subtitles, you may get something out of this. That said, there are plenty better horror movies out there.
