Rebecca, an enigmatic woman, awakens inside a dilapidated police station in the middle of the night with no memory of how she got there. Two combative detectives try to retrace her steps to charge her with a hit and run. Rebecca's situation looks more dire when she's dragged into a scuffle leading to the death of another inmate and one of the officers. Rebecca has blood on her hands and no place to turn, forcing her to bribe the remaining officer to cover up her unwitting mistake. However, Rebecca discovers that the bleak police station she's been trapped in is in fact a ruse designed to rob her blind and dispose of her and everyone that she loves. Now, Rebecca must outwit these dangerous con artists before it's too late. But unbeknownst to them, there is more to Rebecca than meets the eye.

The closest Detained comes to getting under the skin is that hours later, you might slap your head with exasperation as the sudden memory of yet another implausibility pops into your head.

There’s something charming about its single-setting stupidity, dropping a bunch of idiots in an impossible situation and bouncing them off each other until most of them are dead.

There is such a devious sense of uncertainty at the start of Detained that it’s a shame the film turns out to be as patently ridiculous as it is.

Felt kinda made-for-tv but the plot sounded interesting. The mystery is good for a bit, but then too much is revealed too soon and the rest is just enough to keep me loosely engaged.

I'm rating this a little higher than I normally would rate a predictable plot twist with a plot like Swiss cheese and some actors showing little aptitude for the craft because the hatred expressed in other reviews seems overblown. A psychopath would not be capable of caring so much about the prize at the movie's end, though.

This is simply appalling and how any supposed top critics have anything commendable to say about this movie is baffling! Makes you wonder with these reviews especially as I paid to rent this on Prime based on RT’s critic reviews! The acting is atrocious and the direction abominable! Please don’t pay to watch this wreck of a movie!

Synopsis
