Two combative detectives try to retrace her steps to charge her with a hit and run. Rebecca has blood on her hands and no place to turn, forcing her to bribe the remaining officer to cover up her unwitting mistake. However, Rebecca discovers that the bleak police station she's been trapped in is in fact a ruse designed to rob her blind and dispose of her and everyone that she loves. Now, Rebecca must outwit these dangerous con artists before it's too late. But unbeknownst to them, there is more to Rebecca than meets the eye.

Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News This is a finely tuned ride ideal for toss-the-brain-aside weekend consumption. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com There’s something charming about its single-setting stupidity, dropping a bunch of idiots in an impossible situation and bouncing them off each other until most of them are dead. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 2, 2024 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Nothing is terribly believable, partly because it's played as high melodrama. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 6, 2024 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture There is such a devious sense of uncertainty at the start of Detained that it’s a shame the film turns out to be as patently ridiculous as it is. Rated: B- Aug 4, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The mildly clever concept is hampered by ill-timed twists and shallow characters, never mustering sufficient incentive for emotional investment in who lives, dies, or gets paid. Trina B IN A NUTSHELL: The single-location thriller is about a woman who mysteriously wakes up in a police interrogation room with no memory of what happened to the prior night. There’s more than meets the eye with the police station or the woman. The film was written and directed by Felipe Mucci, with writing help by Jeremy Palmer. Both Abbie Cornish and Laz Alonso worked as executive producers. THINGS I LIKED: I’ve always liked Abbie Cornish. There’s something so likeable about her, no matter what role she plays. She gave a good, nuanced performance. All of the cast members did a good job with Laz Alonso and Moon Bloodgood being standouts. All of the characters have a short backstory and motivation. I love crime mysteries with lots of twists like this one has. I love it when I’m not sure how a movie is going to end. The musical score is really good by Matthew James. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: Act 1 is a bit slow but then the pace picks up. Some of the plot points are pretty unrealistic. TIPS FOR PARENTS: Kids will be bored. It’s not appropriate for them to watch anyway. We see dead, charred bodies Several people die. Violence Some profanity, including F-bombs Guns, knives, and other weapons are used We see some gory torture. To see my full review, go to my Movie Review Mom YouTube channel! I watched because I saw a good rating on here. Not sure why! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Maugan L From the first chord of the execrable soundtrack it was clear that watching until the end would not be a good choice. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Chris E love this type of movie, but this one did not pull it off. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/24 Full Review Hollyberry A Loved the twists and turns throughout this movie! will for sure be on the hunt for more movies from this director.
