See more donna s 08/20/2024 This is not a film for everybody.It is so realistic and distrubing..But that is the point.It is a witness to a hortific level of depravity in the youth culture.It should be appalling. It is not entertainment..It is a message about what is taking place in our world.I thought it was brilliant in the portrayal of this tragedy. The children..I have yet to see better acting from such young people.John,hitting his father was a major subconcious but overt peak into a history- or was it? And what happened with these boys to carry out the unimaginable?The entire cast was amazing.And for the record,though this was a film..My heart breaks for the reality ,the parents ,families...Anybody involved digesting such monumental pain no matter the manifestation. The self indulgence of the director and his arrogance is appalling, trying to promote discussion about one of the most horrendous crimes ever committed in the U.K. is a fallacy. If he can't ascertain why these children are evil that's his problem. It is not the philosophical drama he likes to think it is. Shocking.
