Kristian M. Lin Fort Worth Weekly It is ingenious how the plot incorporates the stage magician who calls himself Ching Ling Foo (Wei Xiang) into the story as a witness in the murder case. Feb 7, 2025 Full Review James Marsh Deadline Hollywood Daily As the credits roll, this breezy, sometimes preachy, but admittedly opulent fin-de-siècle whodunnit finally shows its hand with a tacked-on coda sure to raise an eyebrow or two. Feb 5, 2025 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat While the production design nails the look of 1900s Chinatown, and the gruesome murders add some excitement, the film ultimately stumbles. Rated: 5/10 Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine There are wrinkles here and there, and debateable moments, but all in all Detective Chinatown 1900 is populist, breezy entertainment that is perfectly pitched for the New Year season. Katherine K Great Movie! Best of this series Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review k Feel embarrassed and humiliated. Apparently the writer wants to get some tickets from the dark age of Chinese history but he’s doing it in a very wrong way. Characters are like cartoons, everyone seems to change their minds without solid grounds. The murder case is like a 10 yo’s joke. Trying to do fast paced but the plot is broken. Too many moments asking wtf, and you walk out the theater like a clown. Luckily not a crowded room, so one star there is. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review lynn Amazing day, drove two hours from Kentucky. Great movies, clean theater, delicious popcorn,Friendly staff Will come to see Nezha 2 in a few days. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review T W Some fun moments but way too long and overstuffed, juggling too many plots and characters. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Gene Great story! Lots of fun to watch! Good setup about the Chinese American history and Chinatown. The actors are awesome! Love Chow Yun-fat's act. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Lihui D It's a funny movie, but sometimes it makes you cry. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/25 Full Review Read all reviews
