Meyer Levin (Patterson Murphy) Esquire Magazine A follow-up to the Cagney navy picture. Lacks plot. Apr 17, 2020 Full Review Ann Ross Maclean's Magazine The United States Marine Service placed itself unreservedly at the disposal of Warner Brothers to make this picture, and the result, technically speaking, is highly impressive. Oct 4, 2019 Full Review Helen Brown Norden Vanity Fair This is a standardized Cagney vehicle, turned out from the mould. I think it is time they broke it and tried a new one. Jun 7, 2019 Full Review Sean Axmaker Turner Classic Movies Online It's really a showcase for Cagney's cocky charm and smart-aleck attitude... Dec 28, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member u get ur moneys worth with cagney Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member My uncle was an extra in this movie. He was on active duty as a radio man Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the more hilarious of James Cagney and Pat O'Brien's pairings. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Jimmy Cagney is a show-off pilot with a rather evil laugh and Pat O'Brien is a big lug who has to rein him in. Of course they fall for the same girl. It's watchable for Cagney, O'Brien, and Frank McHugh (as a medic named Crash), but there's way too much stock footage of marine training. There is a lot of cool stunt flying though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member DEVIL DOGS OF THE AIR (1935) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
