Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express ...[The film] can be seen reaching for emotional highs, and you will it with all your might to get there, and then along comes another speech-to-camera, another declarative dive, which undermines the moment, and the cumulative drama. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 4, 2025 Full Review Rahul Desai The Hollywood Reporter It finds a middle ground between subtly straying and blindly following. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Anupama Chopra The Hollywood Reporter Doesn't achieve the brilliant, blistering power of its source material Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express It's an unusual comparison to make, but Shazia Iqbal's Dhadak 2 has more in common with Joaquin Phoenix's billion-dollar-grossing Joker movie than you'd imagine. Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Ishita Sengupta OTTplay Dhadak 2 borrows its beats from Pariyerum Perumal but vibrates with its own music. It is a tender task, situated between adapting and creating, performing and inhabiting, miming and mining. Vibhav Y It's a phenomenal picture that sums up a decade long and an ongoing issue in the Indian society. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/25 Full Review Nikita J Tripti Dimri and Siddhant are exceptional actors. They need to be given many many more opportunities to create magic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/25 Full Review paruhang r What a movie with the story which has been in India for decades ? Cast and religion is making India undeveloped in this technology age. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/25 Full Review Ronny C 1/10 - A Complete Disaster: Avoid at All Costs I walked into Dhadak 2 hoping for a meaningful take on caste divides and young love, but what I got was an absolute trainwreck that wasted my time and money. The story follows Nilesh, a low-caste student (played by Siddhant Chaturvedi), who falls for his upper-caste classmate Vidhi (Triptii Dimri) at law school. Their budding romance leads to him attending her sister’s wedding, where things take a shocking turn—but trust me, the only real shock is how badly this film fails on every level. The direction is extremely poor, with scenes dragging on endlessly without any purpose or emotional depth. It’s like the filmmaker had no idea how to build tension or handle sensitive themes like caste discrimination; instead, we’re subjected to clichéd, unrealistic scenarios that feel forced and tone-deaf. Siddhant Chaturvedi’s acting is the worst I’ve seen in a long time—wooden, unconvincing, and utterly lacking in charisma. He stumbles through his role as if reading lines for the first time, making it impossible to root for his character. The music is equally abysmal, with forgettable tracks that do nothing to enhance the narrative and often feel out of place. But the real torture comes from the plot’s structure: it’s basically two hours of unrealistic, drawn-out suffering for the lead character, all building up to a pathetic 5-minute comeback dialogue that’s delivered in the weakest, most underwhelming way possible. What a letdown! This movie is a total waste—don’t bother. Save your money for something that respects your intelligence. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/25 Full Review harsh g I would wholeheartedly and strongly recommend everyone of permissible age to watch this movie. Apart from its almost flawless direction, screenplay, impactful acting and conventional as well as unique modus operandi, the issue of indian social reality on caste lines is touched very beautifully. Casting is best. Special mentions to sidharth chaturvedi, saurav sachdeva, Vipin Sharma, harish khana and mighty Zakir Hussain. The dialogues are iconic like that of "jis par beechti h, voh hi samjhta h", "marne aur ladne mai, ladna chunna". Songs were also good. And the pack of social issues like gender issues, racial issues, caste issues and their entanglement with concepts of marriage, education, leisure is very very very superly presented. Yes, the climax should have been given more time to establish the very change in characters of antagonists as well as the sudden induction of actress's brother in the same class of the college and his sudden spirt of involvement in the matters was bit off track. This movie has such number of scenes which will make a sound matured individual from whichever class or caste or nationality ask questions to oneself atleast once. Also do not judge the film from its spiritual prequel Dhadak. Both are pole's apart movies with former focuses romance in social reality and issues , and the latter is more of typical Bollywood romance in everything. Else, Hatts off to Shazia Iqbal and Karan Johar. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review swagger m Not just a movie a real depiction of the harsh hidden reality .. A movie worth watching but yaa it is must to watch it on a neutral ground to understand the perspectives being biased with a certain will only make u feel like it's just another Bollywood story which isn't.... It unveals the critical issues which are so deeply inherited in the society even nowadays.. Must watch Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/09/25 Full Review Read all reviews
