Naomi Watts tries hard in the title role, but Diana buries her efforts under a shoddy script and clumsy direction.

Roxana Hadadi Punch Drunk Critics Too much of this movie feels made specifically for the movie, which goes directly against its alleged realism, and leaves the audience confused about the point of it all. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 9, 2017 Full Review Louis Black Austin Chronicle Yes, Diana is the poor little rich girl, but the opulent settings, private jets, yachts, and chauffeured cars prove peculiar and distracting affectations. Rated: 1.5/5 Nov 22, 2013 Full Review Eric Henderson Slant Magazine Are the micro-biopics that don't even bother to provide overviews of their famed subjects' entire lives, but instead lean on the spectacle of celebrity impersonation, the new camp? Rated: .5/4 Nov 8, 2013 Full Review Tony Black Cultural Conversation Diana turns out to be an enormously tedious character study which never once has the balls to go beyond its glossed-up TV movie roots. Rated: 1/5 Feb 16, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse A film that plays like a National Enquirer exposé with better pictures. Rated: 1/5 Jan 31, 2021 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Confessions From A Geek Mind I just wished the film was brave in its execution. It played it very safe...and it showed. Kyle M If you’ve seen “Spencer” that came out few years ago, that takes place before this much earlier released inferiority, simultaneously termed regarding who directed and collaborated without the supposedly acclaimed magnificence except very rarely. The focus is unbalanced and underdeveloped without any instinctual tendency to dive deep in contributing anything new to the memorable legacy, even Watts’ impressively dressed deliverance exposed how overall dullishly flawed it turned out which discouraged true embodiment. Best to proceed with caution if this still lingers in the radar as there’s nothing much to impress here. (C) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Audience Member i disagree with the reviews. it was good!!!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/22 Full Review ian w Terrible absolutely Terrible Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know why all the hate for this movie. It's delicate, charming and very touching. Naomi made an awesome job. It's one of the best portraits of Diana I've ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is underrated and Naomi Watts should be very proud of her portrayal. This is the first Diana movie where I bought into it and felt as though I was watching her by the end. The peek into her daily life, her relationship with Dr. Khan, I enjoyed it all. Would watch again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The opinion of the critics doesn't mean anything. They should all be made to get a real job. This movie is (relatively) good. Watts does a fair job of portraying Diana. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
