Jordan T Better than the first 2!!!!!😍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/05/24 Full Review Jacob Z The best animated wimpy kid movie, but not the best wimpy kid film Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Mason V so we're still going with the animated diary of a wimpy kid movies? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review BallisticzsGaming R Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever captures the tone of the books perfectly but with some holiday spirit. The humor, emotion, drama, and shenanigans that you'd find in this movie made me realize how much I've missed these characters and adventures from my childhood as I was an active reader of the books written by Jeff Kinney. I'm actually glad that Jeff Kinney is the producer, writer, and designer for these characters because this movie gives me not only a feeling of nostalgia but also provides a great Christmas movie that has heart, humor, and also suspense. The pacing of this movie is also pretty steady just being over an hour long. At first, I also wasn't sure how I felt about the voice acting for these characters as I think Rodrick and Greg's voices don't sound as I'd picture from the books but the voices for Rowley, Susan, and Frank all sound perfect. Overall, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas is an excellent adaptation of the Cabin Fever book that is not just a dull adaptation but enhances the material with the tone, comedy, and the holiday spirit. Cabin Fever gets a B+ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Joshua L So Fresh Absolutely must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Mike M 6.0/10 Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever was surprisingly enjoyable and slightly funny. But, I still have some problems with the film. First of all, this movie has very little to do with the book. It has some plot of the book but it mostly just puts an entirely different story to these plots. The film feels more like a typical family holiday special, than a Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. But I did appreciate Greg's most-needed cast change, he sounds more younger than Rodrick now. All in all, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever is somewhat more enjoyable than its predecessors but it has very little to do with the book, and instead creates a new holiday story with the characters of the book thrown in it. Christy Lemire FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) The animation is so off-putting in its design... It's so ugly. Dec 11, 2023 Full Review Mat Brunet AniMat's Review (YouTube) I'm genuinely surprised that this actually came out kind of pretty good. Rated: 6/10 Dec 21, 2023 Full Review Charles Solomon FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) You just wonder if you're going to do something that this beloved and popular, why wouldn't you do it first-rate? Dec 11, 2023 Full Review Erick Massoto Collider We love Greg’s egotism and love it even more when he realizes he’s been kind of a jerk to people who care about him. As long as the animated movies continue to understand that, they can keep going for as long as the novels have. Rated: 8/10 Dec 9, 2023 Full Review Maddy Casale Decider This is truly a title that anyone can enjoy, which makes it a pretty darn great piece of holiday season viewing, since it should appeal to a pretty wide range of viewers with varying tastes. Dec 8, 2023 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation The better-to-give-than-receive messaging comes through loud and clear, even if the pratfalls aren’t anything to write home about and the jokes paper thin. The animation...is adequate, nothing more. Rated: 1.5/4 Dec 8, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
