Tough sleuth Dick Tracy (Morgan Conway) has to crack a case when a series of murder victims starts turning up. Ultimately, he determines that they are linked to escaped convict Splitface (Mike Mazurki). Seeking vengeance, Splitface is hunting down those who have wronged him. When Tracy and his partner, Pat Patton (Lyle Latell), foil the criminal, Splitface kidnaps Tracy's girlfriend, Tess (Anne Jeffreys), holding her hostage to keep the ace detective from sending him back to prison.

08/13/2020 An extremely popular movie for its time. It launched the highly successful Dick Tracy movies for RKO. (There were four). Morgan Conway plays Tracy. He's tough, smart and very likable. Anne Jeffries plays an excellent Tess Trueheart. There are a myriad of other suspects..all of them are excellent in their roles. As to who the killer is...it's a good police procedural mystery.
