Abhishek Srivastava The Times of India This film deviates from the typical style of Digimon films, which may potentially disappoint some fans. Although the film has its strengths, when compared to the previous one, it falls a bit short in certain aspects. Rated: 3/5 Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Mariló Delgado Espinof Although it appeals to nostalgia, it falls far short of its predecessor because... Well, to begin with, the DigiDestined and their Digimons are almost here as garnish. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 1, 2023 Full Review Gustavo Pineda Cine Premiere If you're open to the idea that a franchise movie can be more than battles between digital monsters, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning has something for you. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Charles Solomon FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It carries an excellent message to kids: you've got to put away your devices and talk to each other directly. Nov 29, 2023 Full Review Cain Noble-Davies FILMINK (Australia) ... an alarming misfire ... Rated: 4/20 Nov 21, 2023 Full Review Courtney Lanning KUAF Public Radio 91.3 (Arkansas) “Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning” isn’t nearly as powerful as the previous film, “Last Evolution Kizuna.” With that said, the updated animations are enjoyable, and the music is still great. Thwipsnikt It's a wonderfully nostalgic ride for the Digimon Adventure/:02 old-heads! It doesn't fit snuggly into established continuity, but none of the later additions after 02 have. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Montreze M It's entertaining and interesting but I don't believe it's memorable. Glad to see the cast mostly return but it's definitely one of the better movies emotionally. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/23 Full Review Moon P it was a cool way to show us the origin of how digimon came to be in the world. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Eriko I really wanted to like this movie because I love Digimon Adventure 02 but the story only followed one character named Lui. We learn of his past and kinda empathize with him a bit but there's not much of a plot and the story gets resolved incredibly fast. The Digi-destined kids were there just to make this a "Digimon Adventure 02 movie" but they could have been easily replaced with literally anyone and the movie would still be the same. They probably should have made this a 2-part episode rather than a movie that you pay to see in a theater. Very disappointed because I love Digimon :( Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review Alexander Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning was absolutely wonderful! The characters were all excellent, music was beautiful and suitsd the situations, and everything the creators did is excellent. The ending to me, gives hope for a new beginning. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review Gil Awesome movie!!! A great addition to the Digimon franchise. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
