"Dirty Beautiful" is a raw and unconventional love story that explores the messy, imperfect nature of human connection. As a lonely artist and a troubled drifter navigate their chaotic coexistence, the film delves into themes of loneliness, addiction, and unexpected intimacy with honesty and heart. Their relationship, flawed yet deeply compelling, challenges traditional romance tropes, making for an engaging and emotionally resonant experience. Gritty, heartfelt, and refreshingly real, this film earns a strong 9/10.

Dirty Beautiful" is a memorable rom-com that examines the complexities of love with an unflinching lens. The scenes are raw, messy, and at times, hauntingly real.
What sets this film apart from other rom-coms is its fearless exploration of the dark side of love. It doesn't shy away from the messiness and complications that often accompany romantic relationships. Instead, it reminding us that love isn't always neat and tidy, but we all seek it regardless. The lead characters in "Dirty Beautiful" are wonderfully flawed. As they navigate their broken lives, their path intersect unexpectedly, leading to a surprising yet deeply meaningful romance.
The movie is unpredictable and refreshing. Just when you think you have it all figured out, another twist comes which keeps the audience captivated, and making the two wonderful lead characters and relatable. “Dirty Beautiful" is also a funny and heartfelt tale, and is infused with a nice balance between drama and humor. And while the journey may not always lead to a traditional happily-ever-after, it reminds us that love is about compromise and people’s desperate need to make human connections.
Writer and director Tim Bartell did a masterful job making us care about the characters and their stories, and we end up rooting for them

This is as real as it gets for an indie dramady. LA to the T in terms of lifestyle and how it really is to live and work in this industry. Hats off to the writer and director and actors, excellent work and we miss seeing these type of movies on the big screen. Loved the story, and stories like this need to be told more often. The struggle of a screenwriter and failed romances and the transient society of LA. Brilliant movie, a must see!!!

First off, if you don't like indie films then Dirty Beautiful is not for you. You need not read any further. But... If you like indie dramas that portray the harsh reality of life then give Dirty Beautiful a try. It portrays a trainwreck of a relationship that you can't help but watch! Bad decision after bad decision David, played by Ricky Mabe, and Kat, played by Jordan Monaghan, move through life together in the most bizarre of circumstances. I found myself both rooting for them to stick it out and run for the hills throughout this 90 minute drama. I applaud the cast for their performances that felt extremely grounded and believable. I really enjoyed the first 10 minutes of the film, and based off that I thought it was going to be far more light-hearted than it was. When the characters broke the fourth wall and spoke directly to us the audience, I found it a much needed comedic break from the stressful relationship. I do wish there was more of that humor sprinkled throughout. Overall a well done indie film!

Dirty Beautiful is an offbeat comedy/romance about a writer named David, played by Ricky Mabe, who meets a wild girl named Kat, played by Jordan Monaghan, at a traffic light when she jumps into his car after a fight with her boyfriend. David doesn’t know what to do but agrees to bring her back to his apartment. Both Ricky and Jordan did a really good job.
It’s a really funny film, and I liked how it takes what we think is going to happen next and pivots in an unpredictable way. It’s also well produced and shot. Writer and director Tim Bartell did a really good job making us care about the characters and their development toward each other, and we end up rooting for them despite their flaws.
There are some really funny moments, and I think the back and forth between David and Kat is a lot of fun to watch. I like how both characters play off each other, drawing out the best in one another in a believable way.
What makes Dirty Beautiful work is the excellent understanding of when to make us laugh and when to make us care about the imperfect characters whose flaws are true to who they are. The film is light but poignant, which is not easy to achieve and one of the main reasons why I enjoyed it so much.
