      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The laugh-free Dirty Love is a comedy dead zone -- it's aggressively crude and shoddily constructed.

Audience Member Purposefully abysmal as a shamelessly offensive, literal dead zone with zero care towards the product, which is something you should avoid, otherwise make sure the mute button is working or turn the film off a minute later for safety because it's that rotten when decayed rapidly. (F+) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review jay s Who financed this dumb thing, and why? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Dirty Love is dirty but it also deserves some love (and hate). From what I love in this film was some of the humor, Jenny McCarthy, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and the heartwarming ending. But what I found dirty (and hate) was the cringeworthy moments like when Jenny McCarthy had a temper tantrum (couple of times), the scene where she is arrested, and the scene where she is in a grocery store. If you saw this movie you would know what I'm talking about. What I also found dirty was the lazy writing and some of the editing. Overall, I want to like Dirty Love. Truly I do. A part of me still in a way likes it. But I just felt like this movie could of been better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I really liked this movie. Yes, it has corny moments but they are funny, what-if's. Jenny is easy on the eyes and very comedic. I think she did a fantastic job acting/writing. The cast was great especially Carmen Electra If you want to laugh and cry then order this movie!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Exactly the kind of movie that vanilla mainstream Karens just wouldn’t get. And of course they don’t. This is dark comedy genius. And Jenny McCarthy is the real deal. But if you don’t find this film funny then that’s ok. You can just go back to doing it in the missionary position with no eye contact. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/21 Full Review Audience Member One of the funniest girl comedies of all time. Extremely underrated and me and all my friends use the jokes from the movie all the time? Razzie award? Lol... I have seen bad movies and this comedy is not even close to bad. Guess people rather watch unfunny movies, or movies about S and M that have no S and M. Bye. Time Out McCarthy is still a tremendously appealing presence, but her script about a gal who tries to move on after her himbo boyfriend kicks her to the curb is pure amateur hour. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Lisa Rose Newark Star-Ledger The shtick is desperately crude and not particularly funny. One wonders why any actress, even a retired MTV game show hostess, would stoop to such a disgraceful gig. Rated: .5/4 Sep 27, 2005 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Even by the standards of its bottom-feeding genre, Dirty Love clings to the gutter like a rat in garbage. Rated: 0/5 Sep 23, 2005 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com The sad part is that McCarthy's performance isn't even the worst of the film. Rated: .5/4.0 Sep 6, 2020 Full Review David Keyes Cinemaphile.org Each moment, more unfunny than the last, is a record of underachievers who are so far in over their head that they have lost the will to break the chains of their prison.
