What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's didactic in spots and melodramatic in others, but Disconnect's strong cast helps make it a timely, effective exploration of modern society's technological overload.

Stoner J Interesting little drama with a thriller, and vigilante twist. They tie together all the story lines seamlessly and overall this is a really good movie, well acted and directed as well. The whole grief parts can be boring at times but all the parents seeking justice (or revenge) , makes it all worth it! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/25/23 Full Review Jerod S I'm a sucker for bringing a slew of characters in on a common theme. Disconnect harps on the importance of family, of knowing and seeing your loved ones through struggle. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Tasteless chatting drama with exploitation at best. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review bill f Phenomenal film. Great acting all round from a superb cast. The intertwining storylines are all gripping and suspenseful and superbly and sensitively handled (reminds me a little of the equally excellent Crash and Happiness). A totally absorbing film and a must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/22 Full Review corkball Better than I thought it would be. I wanted to dislike this movie on account of it reminded me of that awful Crash flick, and Skarsgard, while a really good actor, picks completely shitty projects. At first, I thought here we go again, but the film grew on me and pulled me in. Even characters I thought were objectionable I grew to empathize with, and the scene where the nudie pics were released online was just heartbreaking. Yeah, it is a little too coincidental; overly melodramatic; they probably tried to frenetically jam too much in at once, and the ending won't be satisfactory to all watchers. But I think the final result was a win. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent movie, important in our time, because most of us are indeed disconnected.
