It's been fifteen years since Giselle and Robert wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city. They decide to move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life – unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe, who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale, placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

Critics Consensus

Although Amy Adams remains just as engaging as ever, Disenchanted lacks the magic that made its predecessor a modern fairytale classic.

As fun as it is to see the original cast reunited, Disenchanted is mostly just a forgettable disappointment.

Wenlei Ma News.com.au Disenchanted starts with promise but largely drops those interesting threads when the over-the-top action really kicks off. The actors step back into the roles & the script is flipped into a fun way! Magic is there Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies The narrative of Disenchanted functions on so many levels that it’s impressive. Giselle’s reliance on fantasy speaks to the very human trait of dissociation with reality as soon as it becomes too difficult to deal with it. Rated: 5/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Lara S Amy Adams is flawless Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review S V I did not find anything I liked about this film, at all. It rather ruined the original film feeling. The real original enchanted is one hundred percent better than this. First, it’s a shame that they did not have Alan Menken compose the music for the sequel. Second, the plot is absolutely terrible. It was like watching a cheap fan film. I do not appreciate Disney ruining the original by creating this horrendous sequel. Will never watch this movie again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Ro M Amy Adam’s is an amazing actor love her performance Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/25 Full Review Daniel B “Disenchanted” no es una mala película, pero el guion recurre a escenarios tan comunes que la trama se vuelve aburrida. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/14/25 Full Review Eos 7 I feel like the whole movie was happening at me, the one song Idina Menzel did was good, but that's about it. I liked the evil assistants but they are the only other thing we gained from this movie. We could have lived without the whole sequel.
