I watched this because of the difference between critic and viewer reviews, and the critics definitely win on this one. District 19 is a film with some interesting ideas, but none of them are explored in any meaningful way. The script is weak, the performances poor, the plot makes no sense, and the whole mess lurches from one scene to another leaving gaping plot holes in its wake. When the credits roll you'll have no idea what happened, but you'll be glad it's over.

this was SO incredibly boring, how does this have a 92% audience rating?! i got a little distracted by the end of it so i might've missed something, but did anything even happen? i felt like they just kept talking about things happening but nothing ever actually happened. based on the synopsis i thought i was getting into a Death Race sort of situation, but that was definitely not the case. probably just my own fault for having false expectations, but even so i don't think i would recommend this one.

I really want to like this movie, but I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve. Lots of atmospheric shots, but no atmosphere, somehow. I have an idea there might have been a good, much shorter film in here, but yeah, just an idea.

An Orwellian-like, dystopian future that will fuel the ego of internet surfing conspiracy theorists everywhere. Surprisingly good before developing some unnecessary character relationships in the second half, would have liked to see it go a somewhat different direction.

I i spotted an error in this fil, when Harrid got in to the red -73 firebird to pick up his brother and drove on, next scene he was driving a -81 firebird and again when he fake killed his brother he was driving the -73 again.
