Josh Rosenblatt Austin Chronicle Let's hope some special form of punishment awaits the man or woman who came up with the idea of basing movies on video games. Rated: 0/5 Jun 30, 2007 Full Review Gregory Kirschling Entertainment Weekly If you only ever see one bad movie about warrior chicks who meet on a tropical isle for a fight contest, make it DOA: Dead or Alive. Rated: B Jun 20, 2007 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Quantcast The plot is but an excuse for a series of elaborately choreographed fight sequences featuring a combination of digital and wire work that somehow manages to feel completely fake despite the obvious physical exertions of its well-trained cast. Jun 19, 2007 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk So cringey, so ... aimed at horny 13-year-olds and so devoid of any well shot or acted moment I just grew more and more fed up. Not even good to watch for a laugh. Rated: 1/5 Jun 17, 2020 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Más Gamers I do not recommend DOA: Dead or Alive, not even to the most hardcore fan of video games. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review James U Delivers exactly what it's supposed to. Over the top action with hot flexible bodies glistening in a picturesque fantasy martial arts world. Got to love it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Elvis D El productor Paul W.S. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Matthew B I don't understand the low score for this film what do people expect? This film is damn near prefect, is it bad of course it is but it's also prefect. It's got hot chick's in bikinis, exploding islands I'm not super familiar with the games but what little I do know that's what I remember from them. This movie isn't two hours long it's short and sweet. Idk what else to say this movie is worth the watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review steve d The dumbest great movie ever. Insanely fun with some of the most inventive fight scenes I have ever seen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Only 15 years old but I remember watching it on tv once A tournament called Dead or Alive is being held for the best fighters to win prize money, some of the contestants enter to better their image while a select few join to solve the mystery of one who's disappeared Many members include Tina, Helena, Kasumi, Christie, and Ryu The head of the competition is Donovan who might have a shadier plan for these fighters Bombed at the box office only making $7 million and had dismal blu ray sales Still so much fun to watch though Colorful, fun fight scenes, and serves the fan base of adolescents Slick casting from Eric Roberts to Eric Marsden to Jamie Presley to Devon Aoki to Sarah Carter Moves fast too thanks to Corey Yuen's hyperkinetic direction and if you're willing to check your brain at the door it's exciting and enjoyable Glad it doesn't take itself too seriously Fun, silly, and entertaining Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/07/22 Full Review Read all reviews
