Dr. Monica Braden (Kay Francis) is a successful obstetrician and a good wife in what seems to be a solid marriage with her husband, John (Warren William). Meanwhile, her friend Mary (Jean Muir), is newly pregnant, and like Monica, she's unhappy to learn that John is leaving for a trip to Europe. But eventually, Monica learns that Mary's upset because she's been having an affair with John, and the baby is his. Though distraught and contemplating divorce, Monica helps Mary prepare for motherhood.
