Dr. Monica Braden (Kay Francis) is a successful obstetrician and a good wife in what seems to be a solid marriage with her husband, John (Warren William). Meanwhile, her friend Mary (Jean Muir), is newly pregnant, and like Monica, she's unhappy to learn that John is leaving for a trip to Europe. But eventually, Monica learns that Mary's upset because she's been having an affair with John, and the baby is his.
