Mark B @Thelaser555 Aug 22, 2026 Two sad and pathetic people attempt to rob a bank. The other member of the gang quits and runs away after barely getting out of the getaway car. From there on, the heist turns into farce. But thanks to Pacino's electrifying performance, the tension mounts and continues to the bitter end as the viewer would be entitled to think it's going to end horribly with the bank worker hostages getting machine gunned by Pacino's zombie-like assistant who is itching to pull the trigger. There's only 1,100 dollars in the till as well so it's all been for nothing. The drama and suspense is taken all the way to the wire as Pacino ends up at the airport after demanding a plane take him to Algeria. Why Algeria we don't know. In the end, his inept assistant gets a bullet in the head by a police officer and Pacino is arrested and the hostages, all safe and sound, are rescued. It's a movie that leaves you exhausted. A Pacino and Lumet masterpiece. See more Read all reviews
