Melissa Maerz Entertainment Weekly To paraphrase something Parton once said about herself: It may look fake, but it's real where it counts. What counts most is the acting, which lends the story a naturalism that the script can't. Rated: B Dec 14, 2015 Full Review Gail Pennington St. Louis Post-Dispatch The story is a sweet one, and Coat of Many Colors does what it does very well. Dec 11, 2015 Full Review Brian Moylan Guardian Just like Dolly Parton, who is one of the best live performers I've ever seen, it is immensely watchable. However, for those who don't regularly visit the house of the lord, it will make your eyes roll like loose marbles in the back of a station wagon. Dec 10, 2015 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media It's refreshing to see such an unsanitized story of faith, family love, and overcoming adversity. Rated: 4/5 Dec 14, 2015 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper Huffington Post Simply beautiful and beautifully simple. Rated: 8/10 Dec 12, 2015 Full Review Ken Tucker Yahoo! TV This is the time of year when sentimentality can be a warming thing, and Parton's Coat will keep an awful lot of people warm this winter. Dec 10, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/19 Full Review Audience Member Really good movie I thought we my wife and I actually bought the 2 movie DVD set. Its just set in the old times and reminded me of growing up on the farm. We didn't have much back then and we worked the fields and canned food and cut wood. Life was hard but it was simple. There was no internet, no cell phones, and outside and church was about it. But it hits home for my wife and I. Absolutely love both the movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review farah r I was completely captivated by this sweet little story about the childhood of country music legend Dolly Parton.
