Brough and Elizabeth reprise their roles as David and Tina. It was filmed on location in Liverpool in September and October 2007 on a budget of £100,000. Due to Morrissey's acting commitments, editing and other post-production work delayed the film's release. It premiered at the 53rd London Film Festival. After the screening, a distribution deal was signed with the BBC for the film to be shown on television. The film was broadcast on BBC Two on 7 March 2010, and was released on DVD the next day. Although many scenes were filmed around the city, some filming was done on the other side of the river, at Yummy's Cafe, in Wallasey Village, and on New Brighton beach. man this is such a really powerful drama movie 2 watch, it is such a really sad movie 2 watch, its got a fantastic cast throughout this movie.....man this is such a brilliant movie 2 watch, it is a really really sad movie 2 watch, its got a great cast throughout this movie.....it is such a really sad movie 2 watch......I think that this is such a fantastic movie 2 watch with a great cast throughout this movie....... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Not entirely a 'romantic drama'. Heavily working class and "rough", the characters are nonetheless sympathetic. There's some innovative camera work and some good music in here, and not a little dose of Liverpool tourism promotion. Not memorable, but not a waste of time either. Helen Elizabeth does a very nice job. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A tender story handled with a keen eye for the beautiful settings available in Liverpool. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Im shocked byt the bad reviews of this film, it was well acted and enjoyable. The cast did really well and it came across very believable. Well done to David Morrissey on his directing debut - more please. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I have always had a soft spot for Liverpool, so I used this as an opportunity to catch glimpses of its famous sights. It turned out to be quite an involving story about two lost souls who end up becoming a couple after sampling the delights of the city. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member "Faark me maite", that was a long hour and 15 minutes i just sat through. Who the 'faaarrrk' was that mockney 'wanka'? More to the point, how many more times am i gonna stumble across the man down on his luck, who is approached by a reasonably attractive, kind hearted woman out of the blue, type of movie. Ive seen this formula so many times now, i'm seriously thinking of trying the quiet moody approach to attract the affections of women myself. And Tina was quite nice. I guess im just jealous Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
