Nurse Charlotte Beale (Rosie Holotik) is hired by Dr. Stephens (Michael Harvey) to work at a small sanitarium he runs. When Charlotte arrives, however, she learns that Stephens has died in the interim, and that she'll be taking orders from new president Dr. Masters (Anne MacAdams). Charlotte goes along, but can't help noticing how unusual Masters' approach is to treating the mentally ill. They're allowed free run of the place, and Charlotte begins to wonder if Masters isn't a patient herself.

If you are a Poe fan, then you might have realised that this film is an Adaptation of "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether." It was clevely done to say the least if you can just ignore the acting. Certainly a cult favourite, highly enjoyable.

The plot about the crazy house inmates who kill people, and the new nurse who unknowingly takes a job there, seemed pretty good at first. The crazy people are kinda creepy, but the plot twist is the best part of the movie. It is a bit disappointing that this movie isn't as violent and suspenseful as it could have been, and there are a lot of useless scenes too. Overall, it was an okay horror movie, though, it's entertaining.

So called "video nasty" from the 70's. A nurse begins work in a mental asylum straight after the death of its director and things quickly spiral out of control as the patients are allowed to run loose around the asylum, the rooms unlocked. For a cheapie this isn't as bad as you might expect with 2 or 3 good performances and some ok direction from S.F. Brownrigg. Don't go in expecting a full on gory horror though, fuck knows why this was banned as theres only a few gory moments but they aren't even that detailed or brutal compared to other films that came out around the same time.

coming out early 70s, with the likes of hills have eyes and other shockers, this was banned at one point, very poorly made in parts, but certainly has that 70s feel, some weird moments have you watching even though its laughable at how amature it comes across, but also nice touches thrtoughout, keep it watchable
