Michael V Dot the i (Spain: el punto sobre la i; Argentina: Obsesión) is a 2003 psychological thriller film starring Gael García Bernal, Natalia Verbeke, and James D'Arcy. It was written and directed by Matthew Parkhill 🎥 It's good 🙂 I'd recommend it if you like this genre 👍🏼 S DANGER IS IN THE DETAILS Young lovers in London are wrapped up in a love triangle that may not be exactly what it seems. Carmen, a beautiful Spanish woman with a tendency to lose her temper at the drop of a hat, is about to be married to Barnaby, a caring, wealthy, but slightly boring Englishman. While out with friends on her ‘hen night' she encounters a stranger who suddenly sparks a passion that has been sleeping within her. As her wedding date approaches, she finds herself struggling to put this newcomer out of her mind, but his effect on her keeps growing stronger. What is it that he sees in her, and why does she feel like she's being pushed inevitably into his arms? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review Audience Member first hour of the movie is Okayish , but its the last 45 minutes that change the complexion of the whole movie. D'Archy and Bernal act out of their skins but the sheer silliness of the ending makes it a great film to a good film. Its not the usual cinema and it does have its charm. Recommended. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member It is so bad, it is good. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This one got an extra half a star for the twists. They try to be extra clever, but if you are an avid movie watcher, you should be able to pick up on some of the turns the plot takes. I do recommend watching this one. Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader Its trickery might seem cute or clever to viewers who don't take either movies or people very seriously, but to me it recalled cynical "puzzle" films like Memento and Irreversible, with no reason to exist apart from its gimmick. Feb 5, 2018 Full Review Kerry Lengel Arizona Republic As much as it tries to be a smart, postmodern indie film, dot the i is pure Hollywood fluff. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 18, 2005 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle So in love with its own inventions and convolutions that it ignores all plausibility and audience acceptance. Rated: 2/5 Jun 25, 2005 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International You watch the screen in disbelief and amazement that any aspiring auteur could so willfully undermine his own project this way. Mar 1, 2007 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...benefits greatly from the inclusion of a thoroughly unpredictable third-act twist... Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 29, 2006 Full Review James O'Ehley SA Movie & DVD Magazine Dot the I is okay-ish until it drops one of those Sixth Sense-style plot twists which negates everything that has gone before it into audiences' laps . . .
