      dave j Connor McEwen (Craig Sheffer) is a known novelist and by coincidence, he also happens to be a witness to a possible murder involving a robbery at an antique shop. When Connor identifies the perpetrator(Costas Mandylor) at a trial and he gets sent to prison, on another coincidence Connor runs into another look-a-like who looks exactly like the suspect he had sent to prison. Spoil As it turns out the so -called girlfriend, Nikki Capelli (Brigitte Bako) was always in cahoots with the perpetrator all along as well as the person who was arrested, who we find out later is actually a twin- both in the same extremist group. That is was nothing more but a ploy or scheme to extort 250,000 from him for the purpose of funding their extremist cause. And upon attempting to escape. The leader gets killed by means of subway running over him while the star lets Nikki escape allowing her to keep the money even though he has return that money. He writes a brand new successful book entitled "Double Take" and meets with Nikki again but in somewhat in disguise, and they walk off together.
