Charles Webb MTV I's hard to imagine die-hard Dragon Age fans flocking to this pretty generic fantasy action film for any reason and it's likewise tough to envision general fantasy fans gravitating towards this. Jul 3, 2018 Full Review R.L. Shaffer IGN DVD While few newcomers will likely attach to Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker, the film provides a real treat for longtime fans of this franchise. Chris M I never played the video game. So I can't judge it as an adaptation. But I can judge it as a movie. As a movie, it's pretty awesome. The monsters, the action and the story all work pretty well. But there are some REALLY annoying characters though. Not perfect and don't know how faithful it is. But it is still worth a watch to people who love fantasy movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing action scenes action packed adventures Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was hot garbage. The plot was prosaic, the Characters were flat, the budget stole the film's greatest moments away by forcing the animators to weirdly truncate every big scene. Their must have been some truly epic things happening in this film. Off screen. The film stars Cassandra, a Seeker of the Chantry whose two defining characteristics are her hotness and her anger. She learns nothing through her journey, except how much she loves murder and needs to be saved by a handsome mage, Galyian who is the only bright spot in the film. He has a modicum of personality rather than none at all. The film's art style is rather lackluster, especially when compared to the game. If you have already played the Dragon Age games then do yourself a favor and avoid this steaming pile. The plot lines and themes have already been explored there with greater efficacy and flair. Not to mention moral complexity. For God sake the videogame had moral grays, social commentary, murder intrigue, sex, scandle violence of all stripes and moments that were truely touching. This movie features a freaking checklist of cliches including but not limited to: Villians monlogueing. Heros with puzzlingly specific information about the bad guys and vice versa 3 different Deus ex machina moments (one in which the High Dragon, tye most powerfully creature in Dragon Age, blows up after fighting one demon. The other dragons just damn explode. The hero learns her lesson and immediately after invalidates it. More bad guy monologuing Confusing and poorly thought out conspiracies One character who is a living Deus Ex Machina with absolutely no dialogue! This film watches like an episode of reeboot set at a Medieval There park. Now I won't be completely mean. The voice acting was good and the film had promise. But as I said budget concerns evidently robbed it of it. One scene comes off as particularly awkward where Galyian and Cassandra are conspiring to escape roughly 10 feet from their would be captors next to some stock trees. No daring escape on horseback to build it up. No Ensuing chase. No one even dies. They just talk, she threatens her, he comes on to her They cunningly ("he's got a knife!" Come the fuck on!) Escape. Next scene. Don't see this movie. It sucks butts. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the movie based off the RPG video game dragon age however people who never played the game or who aren't fansof the game may not Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Pas terrible pour du Dragon Age. Je savais pas qu'il y avait un film et j'aurais pu m'en passer. =_=' Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty Good = 3.5/5 Not my favorite kind of animation style when it comes to anime, but Dawn of the Seeker was still an enjoyable film to watch altogether. As a Dragon Age fan myself, I had fun watching it. Despite how overly ridiculous and over the top it can be 90% of the time... but hey, it's anime. So what do you expect?
