Mixing psychological horror with elegant surrealism and eruptive ‘80s gore effects, Harley Cokeliss’ long-buried feature is a bewitching–and sometimes literal–cinematic house-of-mirrors Go to Full Review

The movie may seem like it is copying a popular horror franchise but there is much more to it. Great acting and themes not explored in 1980s horror movies make it an interesting watch that is worth the time. Go to Full Review

Justin T Oct 1 The is the most British film ever along with Lifeforce (1985). It’s engaging right from the start. You can’t talk about this and not mention that it is incredibly similar to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) but I think it stands apart and does it a bit differently. In some ways, it has more in common with Hellraiser (1987). It is really, really nicely shot and edited. The film grain is literally perfect. The long takes are incredible in this, they serve a purpose and it’s so much nicer than cutting around lots. There are so many fantastic practical effects and real sets. I really miss filmmaking like this. Shame that the story is pretty slow with very little happening in the middle. The characters just about carry your interest through though. See more Brad P 02/28/2023 Although some of the story elements don't quite jibe this is a thoughtful and at times artistic take on nightmares and reality. See more 11/16/2020 Time capsule late 80s supernatural horror flick that borrows heavily from other films, yet still manages to feel original. Certainly worth a watch. See more 07/13/2020 It's a little dull and messy, with a plot that gets a bit convoluted, but there are some pretty cool dream sequences throughout. Even if they don't at all fool you. I think the filmmakers unconsciously made a film about a woman's awakening and conversion to lesbianism. It's pretty subtle, but it's there. So that might make it resonate more with some people. I, unfortunately am not a lesbian... See more 11/10/2012 I really badly want to see this movie again. It's one of the most weird, wonderful, scary and unpredictable horror movies I've ever seen. I can only find it on VHS tape on Amazon, which is pretty useless these days. If you ever get the chance to see it, stick with it, even though the story slows down in places. Some of the dream sequences will take your breath away with their brilliant macabre shocks and chills. Throw the horror movie cliche book out of the window. This movie sneaks up and grabs you with the evil magic of unpredictability; and the special effects are stunning. 100% fresh tomato score from me :) See more Read all reviews
