A simmering, on-target drama involving a visiting Pakistani businessman whose motive and briefcase are both suspicious. Go to Full Review

A suspenseful and satisfying thriller that forces the audience out of its complacency to confront some painful truths about the toll of conflict. Go to Full Review
Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times 05/25/2017
Utterly dull thriller "Drone" tries to raise ethical and moral questions about modern warfare, but the audience can only dwell on the illogical plot and unsympathetic characters - if they can engage at all. Go to Full Review

Goes off on a few too many tangents, but its core theme comes through by the time the credits roll. Whether its worth waiting for it to hit though is a different story. Go to Full Review

Drone suffers from limited range and a greatly reduced payload. Go to Full Review

It's a paper-thin thriller that positions itself as a movie about the consequences of drone warfare, but it's really just a threadbare domestic drama with delusions of contemporary relevance. Go to Full Review

Colin M 04/18/2023 Good movie but not an adequate ending. See more Ken R 12/23/2021 This picture designed for thinking audiences, looks at modern warfare, and should leave the thoughtful viewer with plenty to consider. Have we become too desensitized to push-button drone strikes from afar, and lost the ability to consider the innocent bystanders..the ‘collateral' damage? It's a well-made movie with strong cinematic visual elements (especially at the opening) good central performances, and bares its soul allowing us to see some of the sorry outcomes of assassination from a distance - this time, offering insights into family impacts from both sides. It won't please action fans but also doesn't outstay its welcome. For some, it might seem a little confusing at times but patient audiences should appreciate the overall impact and statements. One of the better Canadian productions. See more 11/10/2021 This movie is full of suspense and suspicion from beginning to end. Artfully filmed as though from a drone. Superb acting by Sean Bean and the young Vancouver actor who plays his son. Certainly thought-provoking. See more 01/28/2021 This is a movie that really hits on a sensitive spot, especially for those who have strong or narrow minded views on the middle East. Is the antagonist really a bad guy, or simply someone who wants the person responsible for his families death to understand the basic principle of actions & consequences. To those who buy into the anti Muslim rhetoric this movie will be seen as a sympathiser film, but its not. The deeper storyline is raw, heartwrenching and sadly, at least in some ways accurate. See more 08/14/2020 This was an awful film. Sean Bean's accent was terrible and the plot is just silly. Slow, weird, stale and based on utter nonsense. Don't even bother! See more 05/22/2020 It’s unfortunate but the film drone has little to do with actual drones. If you’re hoping for something like Eye the sky you’ll be sorely disappointed. As it is the film is pretty bland and boring and feels like a slow-moving home invasion film. Except this is one of the blander home invasion films that I’ve seen. It’s predictable and by the numbers. And it never gets message fully across. See more Read all reviews
