Que filme tenso e intenso, o clima árido, o patriarcado machista, uma tradição bizarra, contrastando com as belas e coloridas roupas de mãe e filha, e seus risos, e alegrias, o ônibus, o filme que angustia do início ao fim, já prevendo pelo pior, pela tragédia anunciada, mas com aquele fio de esperança, no motorista, no "amor" do cunhado, na avó, enfim, tudo tão dolorido, humilhante, descabido, inacreditável, uma produção fantástica e necessária, por mais obras realista e por mais liberdade…

Do you have a daughter? the mother asks. No, he replies. Then you wouldn't understand, she says during their flight from an arranged marriage of her 10-year-old daughter to a grandfather-aged man in the mountains of Pakistan to end a blood-filled tribal feud. Dukhtar, which means daughter, is a triumph in cinematography and the ultimate sacrifice a mother will make for her daughter.The actors are perfectly chosen for their roles --- from Saleha Aref as the love-has-no-end mother, to her stunning daughter Samiya Mumtaz and their fierce protector Mohib Mirza.
