Neil Genzlinger New York Times If the film doesn't measure up as a piece of historical scholarship, it does manage to be a rather touching exploration of the troupe's life cycle: achieving notoriety, then being torn apart by fame, then being destroyed by forces beyond its control. Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Andrew Schenker Time Out Presents a wide-ranging picture of a unique cultural phenomenon, even if subjects like Liza Minnelli too often fall into semiarticulate expressions of hagiographical awe. Rated: 3/5 Nov 15, 2011 Full Review Ernest Hardy Village Voice It's the mind-blowing performance footage (and there's lots of it) that makes this a must-see film. Nov 15, 2011 Full Review Kent Turner Film-Forward.com Will American viewers with no familiarity of this group find much to hold their interest ...? Yes, to a point. The documentary has an ace tucked in its spangled G-string: Liza Minnelli Rated: 2/4 Nov 18, 2011 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Very entertaining, poignant documentary about a largely forgotten but truly groundbreaking bunch of entertainers. Audience Member I have issues with the film's editing, since the information is presented in a rather clumsy, haphazard manner (not to mention the heavy-handed way the director puts herself in it), but still this is such an engaging and enlightening doc about those groundbreaking artists. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTARY! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing documentary, I only wish they were still around so I could see them live! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic, sensuality, musicality, talent, joy, in a "family " of teather. And the story of Tatiana Issa blends the magic of the group. I recommend, for those who knew them, or everyone who never heard of them. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
