Eager to participate in the war, Americans Chuck Brewer (Robert Stack) and Johnny Coe (Leif Erickson) join the British Royal Air Force and are assigned to an American unit, Eagle Squadron, under the command of Paddy Carson (John Loder). The men make their first mission, and Chuck and Johnny are shot down. After being rescued, Carson warns Chuck not to be a hotshot -- and soon competes with him for the attention of transport leader Anne Partridge (Diana Barrymore) during the height of the Blitz.

Bob H I like the movie outside of Robert Stack's part. He plays a typical American jerk. Even when he learns the error of his ways, I found myself rooting against him. The storyline is almost ridiculous. First he's a pilot, then a commando behind enemy lines. All in an effort to portray him as a hero, worthy of the girl. He captures a fictional Germain "Leopard" fighter with some sort of magical TV tube sighting system. I had to laugh when they tried to pass this off as a legitimate German innovation. In the end, they have a Star Wars style ceremony where everyone gets medals for heroism. But I did appreciate the footage and the kudos to the American flyers that volunteered and risked their lives to help the British defend their country.
