John W Terrible, but I loved it as a kid. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Casey P #FreeNimChimpskey no mel no 5 stars Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Red T Stupid Plot & Dumb Jokes mixed in with some terrible acting by Matt LeBlac makes for a terrible misguided sports comedy. The chimp acting is so stupid and never charming but just makes you want to roll your eyes at the dumb jokes. You never once feel anything for either of them and the love interest feels tacked on ad shes barely in the film until the second half. The editing & pacing are terrible. This film loses focus so often (Is this Ed's film? Jack's Film? A Sports Underdog story?) It never ties all of it together and feels like completely separate stories. This is filled with tons of toilet humor, over the top montages, product placement, and stupid plot points. Stay away from this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review I am sick and tired of the obviously stuffed ed and the low level plots. Todd McCarthy Variety Might tolerably amuse the under-10 crowd, but will prove borderline intolerable for everyone else. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Peter Stack San Francisco Chronicle It's forgettable matinee fodder. Rated: 1/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Desson Thomson Washington Post The movie is breathtakingly unadventurous, with its cheesy story line, hackneyed ballpark-fable sentiments, "adorable" animal and collection of one-dimensional human nincompoops, headed by Matt LeBlanc Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim "Ed" is a cute movie about a minor league baseball player who learns about love, respect and self-confidence from his chimpanzee teammate. If you can't get past this premise, don't bother going to see the comedy, featuring "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc.
