To call Eden Lake ‘bleak’ would be to undersell it. Characters and audience alike, very little reprieve is offered from the lurking terror, the tension often hitting the ceiling but never settling back onto the floor.

This was a horrible film. I don't understand why it has even a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The characters were shallow and predictable. There is absolutely no clue as to why the gang of youths acts the way they do, and the ending makes 0 sense. The ending just makes the movie feel even more pointless and dumb.

Has to be one of the worst, most predictable movies I’ve ever seen. I was literally calling scenes seconds before they happened. Everything was just pure bad writing, from him driving fast through the woods with no lights, to her waiting all night and not getting help, to her giving her position away while watching her boyfriend as he’s tortured, hurting her foot while running away, crashing, ending up at the family’s house….just pure garbage writing. What a waste of time. I started skipping 10 seconds over and over the last 20min because I was tired of watching this awful movie. And this was the first movie under “most popular” on Amazon prime video…what a joke.

Garbage. The whole movie is just a never-ending series of “out of the frying pan and into the fire”. Well acted. Horribly written. There’s no redemption. I waited the whole movie for the victim(s) to turn the tide, but nope. Everyone in the entire movie is part of this English hillbilly plot to kill the protagonist.
