Akash (Amitabh Bachchan), who dreams of becoming a poet, is constantly disappointing his lawyer father (Tarun Bose). When Akash falls for a prostitute, Shabnam (Jaya Bhaduri), the relationship between father and son worsens. After Shabnam has a showdown with her madam that results in the woman's death, she finds herself in the crosshairs of the law.
