Audience Member A second-rate El-Cid with third rate actors - there's not even a big name lead to hold onto in this one. Some of the location scenic shots are nice though. Compared to some of the other big-screen historical epics of this period it is weak. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review s r The dubbing was very poor despite it being filmed in English. It had potential in the story, but all aspects of the film were weak and the melodrama did not help. It was filmed in Spain and I enjoyed seeing that. The heroine had distractingly large hips, an odd observation but true nonetheless. Frankie's ballads/narratives were also poor. The moors were shown to have poor taste in clothes and to be primitive chasing women and running away from pigs. This was rather simple and insulting I would think.
