Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Most successful in its bookend set-up action sequences. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Zena Dixon Real Queen of Horror Overall, i liked El Monstro Del Mar! It was well made for a B-rated horror. Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2018 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed I wanted to love this, but there's just not enough narrative to keep audiences awake through the entire seventy five minutes. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 19, 2012 Full Review Simon Foster sbs.com.au Simpson's low-budget, high-energy burlesque-infused bloodbath is a style-over-substance shocker that brazenly dares audiences not to bestow upon it cult status and midnight-screening high priority. Audience Member Buena trama, buenos monstruos Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Every single actor, from start to end with no exception, is awful. Just really genuinely bad. This fact is only further hampered by the frequently embarrassing dialogue of the script. And it's a shame that that's the case, because El Monstro Del Mar! has just about everything else going for it, unfortunately you just can't get past those two major aspects. As the sort of film you put on mute in the background of a party, Monstro might just be peerless, but as something to actually focus your attentions on, I cannot recommend it.
