Nick Allen RogerEbert.com The humor of this rambling film runs dry to the point of unpalatable. Rated: 1.5/4 Aug 5, 2016 Full Review Kenneth Turan Los Angeles Times "The Tenth Man" is a low-key charmer, an unlooked-for combination of Jane Austen and Isaac Bashevis Singer. With a twist of Buenos Aires thrown into the mix. Aug 5, 2016 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times "The Tenth Man" ... breathes considerable life into the rather trite scenario of a man discovering his religious roots, in part because it seems genuinely curious about the community in which it's set. Aug 4, 2016 Full Review Ray Pride Newcity Naturalistic and deadpan, Burman's comedy always takes a viewer by surprise. Cinematographer Daniel Ortega's camerawork wonderfully establishes place and a sense of the vitality of Argentine street life. Nov 16, 2016 Full Review Gary Garrison The Playlist A quizzical marriage of growth and a retreading of familiar themes that never fully coalesce or reach their potential. Rated: C Aug 9, 2016 Full Review Nora Lee Mandel Film-Forward.com Burman [continues] warmly humanistic look at interplay of adult children and parents...Panoply of delightful characters, through dialogue & visuals...You'll leave with a smile. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I was trying hard to find the direction of this movie. It went nowhere. I know it is about a son coming home withoit realizing he want to find his roots.. But no substance here. Dislike completely. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
