Based on the online phenomenon of the same name, ELEVATOR GAME follows socially awkward teenager Ryan, who ingratiates himself into a group of recent high school graduates that run an online web series debunking urban legends. But Ryan has a secret: his sister disappeared months earlier, and he believes they -- and a dangerous online challenge called 'The Elevator Game' -- were responsible. To play the game, you must ride the elevator in a specific sequence, invoking a supernatural creature called 'The 5th Floor Woman'. In an attempt to gain more information as to the whereabouts of his sister, Ryan persuades the group to play the game once more, and risk unleashing the most fearsome consequences imaginable.

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com The final moments of Elevator Game are a disaster. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle It's a flicking of the switch that transitions Elevator Game from a fun comedy-horror for its first half into a ghoulish chiller for its closing act. Rated: 3/5 Sep 14, 2023 Full Review Ygraine Hackett-Cantabrana The Geek Show (UK) Elevator Game is haunted and hindered by strained and unnatural dialogue, and despite its relatively brisk running time of just over 90 minutes, the film suffers from lethargic pacing. Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Daniel Rester Willamette Week Like an elevator itself, Elevator Game is a functional machine that provides an instantly forgettable ride. Rated: 2/4 Oct 5, 2023 Full Review Jenn Adams Strong Female Antagonist Though the film suffers from an excess of harsh humor, the story of college students riding up and down in an elevator turns out to be surprisingly fun Rated: C+ Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online It fails to frighten, the script needs some work, the score thumping through the background sounds like you're playing a children's video game and it has a certain level of cheese that will turn off plenty of viewers. Klaus S Interesting premise but the execution is lackluster. Bad CGI and make-up are just the cherry on top. If you like "classic" 2020-esque jumpscare horror movies you will be satisfied, but other than that its nothing you have to experience in your life. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Lucia S Is bad as fuck I thought it’s great movie but I was absolutely wrong. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Logan D An online occult investigation team of teenagers set out to challenge the idea of an urban myth called the Elevator Game. My wife likes to spontaneously choose films. I don't. I at least look up their rating. Odds are if critics don't like it, I won't either. But now and then I give in and just go with her choice if I'm unfamiliar with the film. Sometimes it works out. This time it didn't. Dull obvious horror with a poor script, especially the dialogue. I was interested in the world that was revealed but the film's time there is all too brief. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review fanta f I have quick question does anyone think that the music In the elevator when the brother does ritual sound kinda familiar to soundtrack in FNAF UCN or am I tripping 🤔? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/27/24 Full Review Dan R 2023's 'The Elevator Game' is a unique spin on the classic horror stories of cursed items and fables. SYNOPSIS: 'Supernatural horror, based on the eponymous online phenomenon, a ritual conducted in an elevator, in which players attempt to travel to another dimension using a set of rules that can be found online.' As much as this film takes this genre in a different direction it still falls down overall. Maybe due to it's own lofty ambitions and poor delivery but something went wrong somewhere. The backstory, the lore if you will, which explains the origin of the 5th Floor Lady is quite effective, and once onscreen she is impressively terrifying. Again there are some really clever and cute ideas here it's just a shame that they're not fleshed out more in a competent way. This could well have become an excellent franchise but it's more than likely now just going to be a one hit, one miss movie. Disappointing. 5/10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/24 Full Review Djonatan A It's not a bad movie. It just needed more investiment. But the idea was good!
